Phil had an election <s>game</s> GAME which we didn't
go into when I told him about my election GAME. I'll work on it.
At first we thought of the name PARLIAMENT. Later I thought of GRASS ROOTS.
We discussed using my original game LAST WORD from ''AGOG''. Later
I thought of using my original game of LAST WORD and found
a lot of notes on it.
Phil showed me a game of his called THE ELECTRIC CIRCUIT. Didn't get
the details for lack of time. It had a number of orbits around
a central space. Each player has 2 (I think) pieces which
move around, the closer to the center the faster. (I'll get the
info some other time.) Players can force the opponent from one
orbit to another.
Phil mentioned the article in ''HERITAGE'' Magazine that I had already
heard about, but haven't seen. Phil said that mainly toys
were shown. The writer said that one reason for playing games
was the comfort of an ordered universe.
Phil was unhappy about his job at Simulations. Jim Dunnigan and
John Young (who has put a lot of money into the company)
insist on having their way with the games, even if they are
wrong. Also he was promised the opportunity to work on
non-war games, but that is forgotten now.
During the day I looked at PENCIL & PAPER KINGDOMS and
PENCIL & PAPER RAILROADS. Brought along notes on these, but
we decided against them.
In DOUBLE THINK I suggested coloring the areas for the opponent
grey, which made it much easier to follow.
