31 MONDAY - JULY 1972
213TH DAY - 153 DAYS TO COME
Called G.A.F. Wally Siegel not in and spoke to Bill Eckhart.
Their staff in Oregon is working on JUNGLE RACE and
THE FAIRY TALE GAME. There is no special hurry for me to
get completed rules to them. I'll call next Monday to set
up a date for sometime next week.
Called Marvin Channing at WOMAN'S DAY to tell him that I came
up with ONE AT A TIME BY THE MILLIONS. He wanted to see
it at once, since their art director is going on vacation. Date
for this afternoon.
To WOMAN'S DAY and showed the game to Channing and Duncan Carter,
who I met last time. They liked the game and were surprised
that I actually came up with something. They preferred
having the board 4 x 4 and eliminating the "L" take-off.
(Advertising men can't think too much, and are used to BINGO.)
They also want Dick Butkus out. He wants too much money.
They asked me if I knew a company that manufactures games
on contract and I suggested Avalon Hill. Called Tom Shaw
and set up a date for 8:30 A.M. on 8/14. I'll go there the
night before and meet Channing at A.H. They'll pay all
expenses and pay me for 2 days.
On 8th Ave. bought the 10/71 SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN. I am
mentioned in connection with my HALMA idea.
While I was out Carl Eisenberg called. Asked me to call him
tomorrow
