24 MONDAY - APRIL 1972
115TH DAY - 251 DAYS TO COME
Herb Hochstetter called, mainly about the job referral he had
given Phil. Told him that I have been just too busy to
get to the game ideas he gave me. No hurry.
To Skunk Works. Spoke to Jim about "Simulations Design Corp."
and CONFLICT (see 4/14). He is not worried about them.
Actually he doesn't believe they have actually started publication.
When they do he believes they will get copies.
Spoke to Phil Orbanes. He still can't get any word from
Bill Knox about GROOVE, etc.
Bob Hallowell would like half a dozen solitaire p. & p.
GAMES to add to the line in the fall.
Spoke to Fred Schacter who, together with Al Nofi who
wasn't there, is supposed to know all about which games
and publications have come in. The only thing that he
could think of of particular interest to me was THE SPARTAN
which is the new quarterly put out by "SICL".
It contalns some PANZERBLITZ variants with 4 map sheets
and a sheet of counters; SPACE CENTURIONS V, a complete
game that can be played with graph paper; ads for SINK THE BISMARCK!
and LENSMAN. (Fred gave me an extra copy they had.)
Returned the copy of ALBION #32 I borrowed. Made repros of
the following material from other issues : - HYPERSPACE DIPLOMACY,
ABSTRACTION (ABERRATION V; short mentions of HYPERECONOMIC DIPLOMACY,
MILLER 9-MAN GAME, MIDDLE EARTH DIPLOMACY II, MORDOR VERSUS THE WORLD,
TWIN-EARTH DIPLOMACY, CHAOS, HYPERSPACE, THE FOUNDATION GAME,
MICRODIPLOMACY, THE LEBLING VARIANT, ANARCHY,
BUSINESS GAME NUMBER ONE; SPACE SHOOTERS, (the issue, #35, with
the 2nd half was not in the library); an article on 3-D GAMEs;
NEW BATTLESHIPS;
