19 WEDNESDAY - APRIL 1972
PATRIOTS' DAY (MAINE) - 110TH DAY - 256 DAYS TO COME
With Mary McKee to Ch. 13 for 8 minute segment on the
"Louise" show. She wasn't there and I was interviewed by
a young fellow with a beard. We both took off our jackets and
did the segment in shirtsleeves.
Discussed the Xerox exhibit a little but most of program segment
was on ACQUIRE and SLEUTH and AGOG.//ACQUIRE
board now much improved.
Back to exhibit hall and mounted ACQUIRE and SLEUTH.
Press luncheon in private room of "Shakespeare". Talking with
three reporters mainly. One Mildred Mikkanen of the
TIMES-UNION took pages of notes. Her article will be in the
Saturday supplement and she promised to send me a tear-sheet.
Gave her my card.
Back to exhibit hall. About 60 kids there. They weren't bad
except that they threw the bean bags like baseballs
and broke about 3. Also one ORBIT (which arrived
this morning) was broken and another swiped.
John Rasor will have signs made "Underhand throwing
only" made up for the bean bag games. He seemed happy with the show.
The Xerox photographer took a lot of pictures and I asked
Mary McKee about sending me some. She said she'd send
me contact prints of all of them to pick out those I wanted
enlarged; but to call her collect if she forgot.
After the kids and reporters left I put together a construction
with STRATO TAC-TICS and it was placed on an old table with
a plastic case on it.
