13 THURSDAY - APRIL 1972
104TH DAY - 262 DAYS TO COME

Rcd. [received] April PLAYTHINGS. Short article on games at Toy Fair mentions : - ARCHIE BUNKER'S DING BAT CARD GAME, HAPPINESS, SPLIT-LEVEL AGGRAVATION, PRO FOOTBALL, COLLEGE FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, HANDICAP GOLF, ON-WORDS, STRATO TAC-TICS, STRATO CHECKERS, INWORD, QUICK MASTER CHESS, COOKS TOUR, HEAD TO HEAD, BRAIN STORM, TRIPLE YAHTZEE, GLOBE TROTTER.

Bernie Lane called. The press party is changed to 4/19. He was relieved that I could get the 9 A.M. plane on Monday morning.
Wrote to Alfons Rubbens telling him that he could come to see me at Xerox on the 19th. Also that I still haven't rcd. his package. I'll bring up my copy of 4000 A.D.

Felicia called to cheer me up by telling me that the 4th 1st quarter royalties for BALI were 5 times last years.
Then a second call. S & R contacted her. Their computer made a mistake. The royalty was about the same as last year. She heard from that Advertising Agency who is interested in a banking GAME for one of their clients. She told them that I was very busy and that they would have to be very specific on what they want before I'd take it on.

For supper with Claude & Anne. He treated us as a "thank you" for his last EXECUTIVE DECISION check.
He showed me a copy of a book GROWTH GAMES. It was pretty much out of my area but I told him to pick me up a copy for $1.50.
Claude had 4 yards of black contact, at 39¢ for 2 yards, for me. Also some "Stick-Arounds" from Mattel for 62¢. Claude said to give him another copy of AGOG instead of paying him.
We talked about Frank Armbruster and I mentioned I was doing a TANGRAMS game for Frank. Claude came up with an idea of using a set of different shapes, each one different, and placing them in an irregular polygon, starting at the edges, until no more could be placed. Told him about my idea.
Claude gave me a catalog of "Educational Supplies and Equipment" 1970-71 to hold indefinitely. Among other games, it includes WATCH.

Phil was looking at Dale's old SEVENTEEN Magazines and found the following short game mentions (Discarded the clippings since there was nothing new) : - 4/64 PORT OF CALL; 5/65 - NINE MEN'S MORRIS; 2/66 - CUBE SCRABBLE, TROKE, Foreign SCRABBLE; 4/67 - PROBE, WFF 'N PROOF, REAL NUMBERS GAME, ON-SETS, TAC-TICKLE, ADVERTISING GAME, JUMPIN, HIGH - BID, TWISTER, BOOBY TRAP.
