University about taking my collection as a continuing  <br>
section of their library. Wanted to make sure I hadn't made  <br>
other arrangements.  <br>
He is assigning <u>''AGOG''</u> as required reading for his class.  <br>
Told him I had to send Castle Book's address but he said  <br>
the University Book Store could get it.  <br>
He rcd. the <u>POTENTIAL</u> rules and sent a letter on it.  <br>
Told him I was progressing with a <u>TANGRAMS</u> game and he'd  <br>
like it ASAP.
 
Playing a few games of <u>CONNECTION</u> (<u>HEX</u>) with myself  <br>
preparatory to writing the rules.
 
<u>Wald Amberstone</u> called. He has a friend who would like a  <br>
copy of <u>ACQUIRE</u> but can't afford the price. Wald wondered if  <br>
I could get copies wholesale. Told him that I couldn't  <br>
but that I would check whether I had an old set I could  <br>
let him have, as soon as I get a free moment.  <br>
I asked him whether it would be O.K. to send <u>Arthur</u>'s address  <br>
to someone who was interested in <u>POWER</u>. Sure.
 
<u>Al & Adela Richter</u> here for a short visit (baby sitter  <br>
called that Laura was sick).  <br>
We played a little of a new <u>GAME</u> Al was fooling around with.

Each player has a given number of  <br>
checkers (18, I think). They are  <br>
started one at a time in the players  <br>
nearest row and then immediately  <br>
moved forward (which just eliminates the outside  <br>
rows and Al will change this).  <br>
Plain pieces move one space in any orthogonal  <br>
direction. Captures are by replacement.  <br>
When a piece lands on the **  <br>
space it gets a 2nd pc. placed on it and  <br>
adds a one space diagonal move. When  <br>
a piece (or is it only a 2-high) lands  <br>
on an opposite *** it is made 3 high. It can then move two spaces in  <br>
any direction (or is it only orthogonal). Didn't work very well.
