3 MONDAY - APRIL 1972
94TH DAY - 272 DAYS TO COME
Called Jack Davis. I'll go to his office about 4:30 tomorrow
to pick up games for Xerox. I'll definitely take ACQUIRE
and we'll discuss the others.
Told him about my meeting with Sandra Garson and that
ACQUIRE would be featured.
Herb Hochstetter called, mainly to give Phil a man to call about
a job. He asked if liked his idea for the game with
glimpses of the opponent's layouts. I said that I certainly
could come up with a GAME, but that I am working on
the solitaire p. & p. GAMEs now. He agreed, saying they
were crucial.
When writing up Bernie Lane's call of 3/31 didn't
remember if he had said that he would order 5 boards
(which seemed to stick in my mind). Called him and he'll
order 7 or 8 of them.
Rcd. a big box from 3M with : - PENETRATION, SPLURGE, SPECULATION, SPACE CHASE, SAIL AWAY, PRO PLAYOFF (2 copies), TRANSACTION
(unfortunately the edition I have - not the new one), BROKER,
LE MANS (No rules), LOW BIDDER, LET'S BOWL-A-GAME, WFF 'N PROOF,
GAME OF TRUMPS (New to me), PEG-A-LINE (New to me).
Took WFF 'N PROOF sent to me and placed it on my shelf.
A timer was missing and I took this from the set I got
for the Xerox exhibit at G. & R. This book is the 1965 edition.
The G. & R. copy is 1966 edition, but I didn't change books.

if I could look at his files of game clippings. Sure, but he
doesn't have much here. A lot of things were sent to Salem without
retaining a copy.
He asked if I had sent MASTERPIECE revisions to Dohrmann. Yes, but
I haven't rcd. any word on it.
To see Jack Davis. He introduced me to Edie Nichols, a new
member of their staff. (Jan will probably be leaving in June.) Edie is
involved with TV and radio, and has a particular in with John
Bartholemew (?) Tucker. Spoke somewhat about my media experience. She'll
check with Audrey and, if Audrey agrees, she willhave me send
a rundown on me and then will try to get me on.
Jack gave me copies of the following for possible inclusion in
Xerox exhibit: ACQUIRE, TWIXT, PLOY, MR. PRESIDENT (which Jack
says Audrey is very anxious to have included), SLEUTH (2 copies,
1 to replace the one I gave to Daniel Mack). Also a review copy of
POINT OF LAW (which has a picture of Bill Caruson on the back
cover).
Jack asked if I had heard from Daniel Mack. Mack had told Jack
