27 SUNDAY - FEBRUARY 1972
SECOND SUNDAY IN LENT - 58TH DAY - 308 DAYS TO COME
Finished the rules for LOTTERY, including a simplified ending,
where each Office is counted at $2,000.
Did the rules for SKYSCRAPERS.
At Dale's wedding Rick (Dale's friend) mentioned that two
of his friends had NINE OF SWORDS and that he saw
an ad for it, probably in the SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN.
New York TIMES had article on Toy Fair, but no ads. Very little
on games in the article. (Filed in 1972 Misc. [miscellaneous] folder.)
(cont. from 2/28) [2/28]
the games. They are trying to get reps since their salesmen
don't seem to be able to sell games. He hopes that with slow
improvement that by 5 years they should be earning something.
Took the catalog. New are TAKE A CHANCE & DECEPTION which
Mary will send me. They also have an ADDITION edition of
SPITE 'N' MALICE and SHANGHAI (which Mary says is the
same as ZIONCHECK). Also there is a party game FIG LEAF
which Mary says features complete frontal nudity (see catalog)
and is played like PIN THE TAIL ON THE DONKEY. TRANSFORMATION is
still in, as well as the peg games. (Filed in 1972 Misc.)
Norton said they'd like some sophisticated card GAMEs to go with
their FIG LEAF. Also a fast moving gambling GAME played with
cards, but something new. I described HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME to
him and he didn'y care for it. Described BIG FUNERAL and he
was interested. (I believe that Norton said that I had till the
end of April June to get things in - for which year?)
Met Felicia there. (Lillian Voegelin is showing things to Bill Dohrmann
this morning.) Felicia took Mary to lunch, but Norton joined
them and paid.
K.D. Products : - had the Canadian game STOCK TICKER. Also
SHUFFAKURL an action combination with CURLING, SHUFFLEBOARD,
and HORSE RACING. And ARMCHAIR GOLF. (Have rules for "Golf"
and a sheet in 1972 Misc.)
Andrews Enterprises : - MAD-CAPS, a set of 26 puzzles. (Sheet
with additional notes filed in 1972 Misc)
Malmurph Enterprises : - Got rules for BACK-COURT and
BLUE-LINE. (Later got the games and added this set of rules.)
Contemporary Products, Inc. : - Got a copy of their game
HEX-TAC-TOE. In a few months, Mr. Roberts told me, he will be
coming out with new rules of other games that can be played
with the same equipment, such as playing placing the triangles
so that a symmetrical pattern is formed. A player loses when
he places a piece that cannot be matched symmetrically. Another
variation is to play that no two of the same color can adjoin, and
another that colors must always adjoin. (Didn't get the details.)
Told him to send me the new rules when they were out and
