Working on more DIALEMMA puzzles. Have 10 now.
Bob Gellman called. Went over slides still needed for HOLIDAY. He
is thinking of the possibility of eliminating Michele's slides
altogether.
I asked him about the was GAME that came up Thursday. Bob Schneider
wants a game about Patton. He gave me his number in New York
and asked me to call
{Bob Schneider
{734-1745
to talk to him about it.
Bob <s>called me</s> Gellman called me back to say that Schneider called
him and he has the game worked out. He is interested in advertising
in ''S & T''. I said that the game has tobe pretty realistic to appeal to
the readers.
Played MASTERPIECE with BB, Dana, Dale & Phil. Each player
started at at "Private Auction" space, chosen in order. Move one
space at a time. Differences from existing rules: "May sell to bank" -
choose picture. Throw 1 die and $50,000 times no. is a commission. May, instead
of selling to bank, put it for auction to highest bidder. If no one bids, the
picture is lost to the bank. "Private Auction" - choose one picture, opponent's
or own and have it auctioned. If an opponent's, player must start bidding
with $100,000. "Any space with a dollar value" - instead of following instructions
on space may buy any picture from an opponent. Throw 2 dice -
if 8 or less pay amount on space. If more than 8 pay twice.
Players must if possible always make a play. For instance if land on
"Buy from bank for $350,000" and all pictures are gone, must buy from
an opponent.
Intended to play until all players had gone around the board
once but this was too long. Stopped at half way.
Later thought of following changes: Players in turn can move 1 or
2 spaces. Mark the starting spaces with an arrow marker. As
soon as a player gets back to his start, or one space passed
with a move of 2, the game is ended unless all pictures
are not gone from the bank, in which caes continue till they are. In
any case players
