Rcd. [received] a call from : -

The magazine is aimed towards "sophisticates" and will have
a controlled circulation of 300,000. They are interested in
a column of game reviews. Mike Alber told them that I
know more about games than anyone in the country. Also that
I have written columns for BOOKWORLD.
She wanted me to send her my BOOKWORLD columns and
I also sent the ones from S & T with EXECUTIVE DECISION,
COMBINATION, VECTOR et al.
Told her about AGOG. She wanted me to have the publisher
send her a copy but told her that Castle Book wasn't as
accomodating as Random House would be. Told her about
Metropolitain Book Store and she said she'd get a copy.

Finally rcd. the $187.50 check for FITTING & PROPER,
together with a very formal letter signed by Bob Edwards.

Bob Hallowell called. His designer came up with a packaging
concept for the p. and p. games which everyone is crazy about.
It is a plastic tray with a platform to hold the
pad and space around it for the pencil and dice I
asked about the rules and he wanted to limit them to
a 4" x 6" area on top of the platform. I didn't think that
would be enough room and suggested a folded sheet. At
first he thought it would add 1¢ to the cost but then
decided it would cost as much to print on the platform.
He wants me to have the rules completed for 6 of
the games so that they can pick 2 to do an art job
on. He thinks DRILL FOR OIL, with a name like
WILDCAT, will lend itself to artistic treatment. He would
like them by the end of next week.
Wanted to discuss various problems, such as what to
do about THE FICTIONARY GAME (Perforations to tear into
pcs. ?). He was rushed and will call me back on Monday.

I called Felicia to ask for Chuck Titus' address. Got answering
service who said she was at home.
Felicia called. She rcd. a letter from Bob Edwards asking
some questions about CHECKPOINT. They seem to like it
a lot. No mention of PLANES.
Another letter from Bob Edwards asking talking
about PSYCHE-PATHS & KALIKO and asking questions about "both
games." Originally he knew they were the same game. She
sent him Titus' original model of KALIKO in a tube.
Told her about FITTING & PROPER check and the cold letter.
She said it was probably written by his secretary.
She told me that she rcd. a letter from Mary Hilt. I didn't
