that at G. & R. they always seem to be pushing Kontrell products.
Frank said that he believes they are paying rent at G. & R.,
rather than just commision.
Frank wants to come in for the Stationery Show but would like
someone to share a booth with. I suggested Gini Scott and he will
contact her. I asked him not to tell her that I had invited him
to lunch, since I hadn't invited her. He said that he understood
why she made BB nervous. She makes him nervous too. She wants to
get one of her games or puzzles in his celebrity series, but he
doesn't want to deal with her to that extent.
He gave me a copy of his TUMBLE NUMBERS, even tho it is for
children. In a new edition he is adding another cube,
with 2 +'s, 2 x's, 1 - , and 1 [division sign].
The name sounded familiar and I discovered I had a
game of that name put out by Kohner in 1960.
Told Frank about Xerox exhibit. He will send me KRYPTO and an
authentic Phillipine MANCALA which he is selling now that the
KALAH line was taken from him. He will also send me a repro of the
Smithsonian report ''MANCALA, THE NATIONAL GAME OF AFRICA'' (which I
already have).
Frank is now handling the WFF 'N PROOF line on the west coast.
He wants to package Claude's GENIUS BLOCKS a little better. I
suggested a tray into which the 6 blocks can be placed, with
the printed material on the bottom of the tray. Frank will
send me a dozen copies.
Claude is working up a junior edition with 4 blocks
and only + numbers.
Frank got together with Claude yesterday.
Frank told me the present lineup for his "personality series"
of games and puzzles : -
Claude Soucie -GENIUS BLOCKS.
Wade Philpott (the crippled mathematician Martin Gardner spoke to
me about) - TRIPLETS - a puzzle using {small diagram of two conjoined cubes.]
double cube pcs.
Object is to get each color in lines of 3. (Rough Idea.)
Frank Thibault - may supply an item.
Martin Gardner - 30 CUBES - the name of Martin's article
which was used instead of THE TOWER GAME.
Frank armbruster - REVERSI (that is Frank is wroting the
