Herb gets ideas for GAMEs which he'd like Phil and me to
work up at a royalty splitting arrangement to be worked out
(either 1/3 each or 1/2 to him and the rest to Phil and me).
Spoke to Jim D. about Al Rubben's last letter. Jim has sent
a copy of S & T to Waddington. He doesn't want to handle
4000 A.D., altho I said it was a good game.
Jim, as well as Phil, and John Young seemed concerned
about finances, and the amount committed for ads.
The deal with Reiss probably won't go thru. They'd have
to sell 5 times as much as mail order to make the same profit.

Spoke to Red. He is just finishing the pasteup of S & T #31.
April 7 is O.K. for my column #32.
Took the following, some for possible use at Xerox exhibit:
MOVES (#1); S & T #26 and 3 - #29; NAPOLEON AT WATERLOO.
To Earl's. Claude there already. Earl insisted on treating us
to a Chinese meal at Hing Hing restaurant.
Started to play 3-hand game of 4000 A.D. but
Claude wasn't feeling well. He napped while Earl and
I played. Instead of each using 2 home stars and
fleets as specified in the rules we each used only one.
And it still was rather complicated to use the warps.
Earl and I played a game of HEXAGO (see 3/18)
while Claude looked at books. Earl took the inventor's
name & address & will write to him.
The three of us played WILDCAT and it played well.
Claude bought a book - GROWTH GAMES for $1.50 and asked
Earl & me if he should get us copies. Yes.
During day rcd. [received] a package from Parker with SMESS,
LANDSLIDE, MASTERPIECE, AVALANCHE, MONOPOLY (French).
Also rcd. THE GREAT DOWNHILL SKI GAME from Franklin.
In the morning before I left, rcd. call from Jules
Cooper in answer to mine of 3/17. Told him about the
info in HOW TO PLAY GO. He thanked me.
I asked if he had sent the games yet. No, but he'll
be sure that I get them in time.
I told him I probably would have a game to show him
in a few months.
At G. & R. I told the secretary I'd take RICOCHET for Xerox since she had tried to push the Kontrell games in the past. However, they have discontinued handling them and are just waiting for the samples to be picked up.
