Rcd. a carbon of a letter from Tom Shaw to Pierre Berloquin,
telling Pierre that he was sending ORIGIN OF WORLD WAR II.

Made a set of pieces with the designs of 11/4. Started a
board with black +'s in the corner, on a white board. For

please not say anything to Ken Morgan about MOVIE STARS.
He doesn't think he is obligated to Ken on it, but Ken might feel so.

Claude called. I told him about the demand for card games
with fancy illustrations and suggested that he come up
with some. He appreciated my telling him but thinks I
should work on it myself first. He is busy on MANIPULATION.
In one of his subway booths he came across an old copy
of TRUE Magazine which had an article on games, including
a little on VENTURE. Told him that I didn't have it and he'll
try to find it again.

Working on DIALEMMA till quite late trying to get the one
best arrangement. In bed thought of having the hands
loose to be slipped over open posts. This will allow for a
variety of puzzles, and also will be much cheaper.

demonstrating some of his puzzles and made quite a bit of
money, which made his wife appreciate the collection for the first time.
The other collector had had his puzzles in exhibits by
banks, etc. and Martin thinks if I wanted to go to the trouble
I could get similar exhibits of my games.
I looked at three copies of LIFELINE, a magazine devoted to
Conway's LIFE. It is put out by

It is mostly devoted to computer applications but in
No. 2 (June '71) there was a 2-hand game - IMMIGRATION.
It is played on a 25 x 25 field which is considered toroidal
(that is opposite edges are joined). Each player has a
different color. To start each player in turn places one
pc. of his own color until each has 5 on the board. Then
10 generations are traced according to the usual rules,
disregarding the colors except that when a new pc.
