Thought of ideas for eliminating the "board game" look in LOTTERY. Have 6
cities instead of 7 and 6 offices in each, except one which has 5. Two dice of
different colors locate the office "landed on." A third di with one face marked "CARD" and a second marked "BUY" direct a player, in addition to his landing move, to draw a card or to buy the landed on office for a price determined by throwing the two dice again. Possible idea -- throw one die, then decide whether want to buy or not. Price is $500 x the total of the two dice. The third die could have the numbers 1 to 4 on the other faces, for use in the lottery.
The cities are each on a separate card with recesses for the markers, and can be arranged to fit the table. 2 other cards provide spaces for the "lottery" and the cards.
Played 2 games of BOUNDARY with Phil Laurence. He beat me twice. It seems just about impossible to safely remove a "guard" from the gold row.
Called Eve Auchincloss and asked her if there would be any objection to my including THE GODFATHER GAME in my ''BOOK WORLD'' column. She didn't think so, and especially when I said it was a good game based on GO she wanted it in. Read her my introduction and she liked it. Then wrote up SPEED CIRCUIT.
