Rcd. I SLEUTH problem answer. He also mentioned that the game U-BOAT is being programmed for computer play at Columbia University.

From Don Laycock rcd. THE AUSTRALIAN EXPLORER GAME (Murfett). A "Goose" type game. Also QUINTET GAME, a group of games including: FIVE IN A ROW GAME, FLOWER GAME, CHINESE CHECKERS (with some variations), CANNON GAME, TIT TAT TOE, THREE IN A ROW GAME, FOUR MARBLES GAME (The marbles were not included - too heavy. Made in China, and sold thru Amsterdam.)

Don also sent repros of the rules for BAMBU, from the book "A quite Game of Bambu" (which I copied some time ago). Note that he had rcd. MEM.

Rcd. a package from Jim Dunnigan with issue #28 of S&T and three TSG games: LEIPZIG, DARK AGES, and PHALANX.

In Selfridge's bought CAMPAIGN, HEXADOMS, TOT-TEN, WORLD SOCCER, FOUR SCORES (QUADRO COMBI) Saw COLOR QUADS (Parker). There is a 6x6 layout of colored circles with [diagram with grid of 16 circles in 4 rows with different symbols in their centers] slotted plastic domes in the center. (The four circles in the middle have two colors, with yellow the inner.) There is a set of cards with 2 quar- ter circles on an edge. Players turn [diagram of square with markings in bottom corners] a card and place it in slots so that the colors match. Score for completing squares. For a more advanced game play with a choice of cards to play. There was a mention of cards with marks on one side (?) only being able to be played on the edge. (Didn't get all the details.)

Saw HONEYCOMB (MarX). A hex field with grooves between the small hexes into which it is divided. Players use pieces with two sides of a hex. Score for completing hexes. (Didn't get all the details.)

Was going to buy GOING FOR A SONG when I discovered that the rules called it WHAT AM I BID? (which I have).

Saw TAKE THE BRAIN (Parker) which I later discovered was SMESS.

As "John Lewis" bought DRIVE and QUANDARY.

Saw WEMBLY which is based on the Soccer playoffs in England. Players are bought and teams managed thru a series of games. (Didn't get the details.)

Saw SAGA again but still didn't buy it. (cont. on 10/8)
