Tuesday 7 September 1971
250th day - 115 days to come
Started a letter to Lech Pijanowski.
Rcd. a correct answer to the SLEUTH problem in S&T, from
[bracket] David Levine
305 W. 18th St.
N.Y., N.Y. 1011
Rcd. a card from Warren Buell in England.
Called and spoke to Bernard Lane of "Exhibition Management"
(see 9/3). They'll come to speak to me next Monday, after supper.
Called Pierce Promotions. Spoke to Jan. They don't have a copy
of SPEED CIRCUIT to give me. They do have EVADE and I'll
call and arrange to pick one up.
Called Mickey Mackay. Not at her desk. Supposed to call back. Didn't.
Phil Orbanes called. Got directions for Bob Reiss to visit me to-
morrow.
I asked and he hadn't spoken to Carl Eisenberg about
HOLEY TERROR yet.
Read the rules of PRESIDENTS DIRECTEUR GENERAUX and looked
at AVANTE, in connection with my letter to Lech.
Found a repro of the rules for INTERPRETATION OF DREAMS,
which Lech insisted he had to have. Wrote the letter on the
back of the two sheets.
Called Carl Eisenberg. Bob Reiss told him that he thinks everybody will be coming out with color puzzles next year, so Carl will not consider HOLEY TERROR until seeing what is shown at Stationery Show next spring.
Spoke to Phil again. We planned that I'd ride downtown with Bob & Manny tomorrow. Phil will show me a prototype of THE NEXT PRESIDENT. He will also show me the game ZIG-ZAG which is now called INTERPLAY. This is the game that Joel Gaines didn't want to tell me the new name of. I told Phil about my game INTERPLAY with Stancraft. Looked at the rules and box and there was no TM or ®.
Bob Reiss called in evening and called off date for tomorrow. Asked him about GROOVE. He didn't seem anxious to see it but O.K.'d my bringing it to Phil. We'll set up a date for him to come here either next week or after my vacation.
(cont. from 9/10) [9/23]
Rcd. 11 answers to the SLEUTH problem. One mentioned that
EXECUTIVE DECISION was just like MANAGEMENT II (?).
