Arthur called.
Arthur called. After seeing Claude's THE PURLOINED LETTER
he and Wald came up with a word GAME of their own.
Wouldn't tell me anything about it, except to say that it
is very different. Maybe we'll get together at Earl Perel's in
the near future and they'll show it.
Told Arthur that Felicia wanted him to provide a new frame for
POWUR.
Told Arthur about my coming up with a change in SPELLBINDER
after seeing THE PURLOINED LETTER.

Thinking about SPELLBINDER. Decided to add a minute timer
which the player grabs when he thinks he can make a word and which
gives him 1 minute to do it in.
Decided that the cards will have to be redone, with a
big letter in the center and a value in the corner.
Thinking about a solitaire and it should be easy to come up with.

Made a model for the puzzle I want to show to Carl Eisenberg
(see 8/4). Decided to call it HOLEY TERROR.
Bought some wood grain contact to use on the base of
the new model of WILD WOOD PILE. Put it on.
Made up a game using the HOLEY TERROR equipment. Tried it with
BB and it was quite good.

(cont. from 8/10) [8/11]

When I was at Carl Eisenberg's I showed him
WILD WOOD PILE. He thought it would be good for Hoi Poloi.
Also told him that I had speeded up SPELLBINDER.
He said he'd like to see it then. I told him that I
thought his objection was to its being a card game. He
said, "no, it was too slow." Told him that if my agent
didn't place it with X I would show it to him again.
He said that he almost decided to take Gini's word
GAME but there was something off in it.
He'd like to have a word GAME.
