I bought an 1969 copy of OFFICIAL RULES OF CARD GAMES (1969).
Had rules for BOURE or BOORAY.
Had rules for BOURE or BOORAY.
In library
In library had copy of AGOG. Also ABBOTT'S NEW CATD GAMES.
Mentioned to Claude about Hallmark and RED LETTER and their
saying that family word games are now top priority. He
said that he had an idea for a word GAME, which he hasn't
worked out completely yet. It is played with a deck of cards.
On the back are three letters, such as "N-E-M". On the
other side is one of the three letters. Players have a choice
of a number of cards placed back up in their effort to draw
cards to make words.
Claude asked if I would mind his submitting this to Hallmark.
Told him that undoubtedly other inventors are submitting word
games, so why shouldn't he.
In evening, back at their house, showed RECONSTRUCTION to
Claude and to Anne. They were too tired to do much on it.
Claude did see some resemblance to DEDUCTION. However it
certainly is not a copy, and other inventors could come up with
things like it. I said that I wouldn't submit it to Hallmark
until DEDUCTION is settled. He appreciated that.
Claude suggested that I could use different shaped fields
[illegible crossed out] as well as rectangular.
I mentioned that I had been thinking of making a newspaper
column out of RECONSTRUCTION. He had been thinking of this for
DEDUCTION before he submitted it to Hallmark.
At Claude's mother's apt. looked at some of Claude's books and
saw that he had THEORY OF GAMES AND ECONOMIC BEHAVIOR by
John Van Neamann & Oskar Morganstern (John Wiley - 1964). It is a
$2.95 paperback. Either I or Claude will get me a copy
for my library.
Borrowed the game RIDER'S UP which Felicia gave to Claude.
