Rcd. a notice from Goethe House that I hadn't returned DER SPIEGEL (discarded). Called and said that I had re- turned it the following day. The librarian apologized.

At Princeton looked at a store called "The Game Room." It had a good collection of games, but nothing I haven't seen. Bought a copy of SPLURGE for $3. [[ College store had COLLEGE DAZE, another sex and drinking game. A more risqué set of cards can be bought. (Didn't get details.) At { Witherspoon Art & Book Store, 12 Nassau Street, Princeton, New Jersey 08540 bought a copy of BOLIVIA by Ottilie H. Reilly. Also bought a boxed set for SALTA which did not have rules, but I have info on it. The lady there was interested in how it was played and I promised to send the rules to her.

To Herb Siegel's. Gave them a copy of NINE OF SWORDS. Showed SALTA to Herb & he didn't have a copy. Gave it to him. Looked at the overall arrangement of his collection.

The first to kill the opponent's men wins. At the end of the rules there was an ad for a game CUBE ANAGRAMS, with no description of the game. GAME OF COLORS (McLoughlin Bros. - 1888). In the center of the board are 6 colored circles, with a number from 1 to 6 in each. Around the edge is a path with colored circles and numbers, in different combinations. 2 play and each places a marker on one color-number combination. Then they move a- nother marker around the path by [crossed out] spinning a spinner and moving the number on either end. If land on their own color or number collect 1 chip from opponent - if both, 2. If neither put one in pool. Game over when one player runs out of chips. Opponent then takes pool - which means he gets all the chips. DERBY DAY (P. - London - N.D.) 48 "horse" cards - Odd nos. red (1-47) Even nos. (2-48). [Herb will send copy of rules.] At end there is an ad for PAM, which, from the picture and description, is the same as FLINCH. GAME OF POLITICS (W.S. Reed - 1888).
