I told Al about some of my ideas for making his WHIRLPOOL into a skill game. Most likely - have cards with different num- bers which can be chosen to determine the number of spaces to move the wheel. He showed me a PUZZLE he is working on. There

are 4 rings as shown. The spaces are col- ored in different arrangements of 4 (I be- lieve) colors. Object is to place the 4 rings on a spindle so that at each joint the colors match. He said there was only one solution but I solved it rather easily. Played PLANES and they liked it. Made date for them to visit us 6/11.

Claude called. He was at the thrift stores and he saw a copy of DUET BRIDGE for about $1. I thought I had it but found that I didn't. Told him to go get it. He had already picked up BRIDGE FOR ONE (M.B.) for about 25¢. Thought I had this, but didn't.

except that it was hard keeping track of what was prohibited. Solved this neetly be providing 4 black chips. Each time a player makes a transfer he places a chip on the square which stops others from being placed on it and also indicated sizes that can't be transfered again. If a move on the field is made a chip is passed to the next player. Thought of having a different allowable arrange- ment of color matches for each player, avoiding automatically reversable moves. Also think it might be a good idea to (cont. on 5/21)
