<u>Claude</u> and Anne over in the evening. He brought the copy
of <u>NINE OF SWORDS</u> <u>Bob Hallowell</u> gave him. No room.
We played a new version of <u>LOA</u>, several games with different
players. The board is as shown. When 2 play use 10 pieces each
of two of the colors (any two of the three). A more skillful
game results when a player is not allowed
to jump over opposing pcs; a faster when
such jumping is allowed.
When 3 play 10 each of the 3 colors are
used. When played without allowing jumping
over opposing pcs. it is a very tight
game, almost like a puzzle. With jumping
over opposing pcs. allowed the game is more
open, but seems to be more subject to
the problem of who will stop the opponent at
the expense of his own game.
4 and 6 hand games are 2 & 3, with
the partners taking turns. I suggested differentiating the
two groups of 5 and allowing each partner to move only his group.
We played <u>POTENTIAL</u>, 4-hand with each for himself. Altho
Claude was tried and Anne doesn't care for adding, it played well.
Claude said that if I had any ideas for simple <u>PUZZLE</u>s
that can be made up using magnets I can probably sell
them to Norbert (who did his puzzles). They give about
$100 advance.
Claude thinks that Crest is pretty good for paperbacks, but not as good as Dell.

much better.
I asked her about the game, <u>BREAD</u>. It was a gambling game
by <u>Roel Cowan</u>, who did <u>ZEC-HI</u>. She sent them together
to Hallmark.
Asked Felicia about <u>CHECKPOINT CHARLIE</u>. She hasn't seen it,
I having misunderstood what she said on 5/21. <u>Mr. Dobbs</u>
is considering putting it out. The inventor has a lot of
other games and Dobbs is going to introduce him to Felicia.
She hears he is very brilliant. His name is <u>Gil Byak</u>.
Dobbs is only interested in looking at her action games. She
will show him <u>Al Richter</u>'s <u>BING-BONG BALL</u>.
Told Felicia I was seeing the <u>Richter</u>s tonight and she wants me
to tell him to check what is on the market; also to get some
arts and craft ideas to her.
3M is considering putting their new packaging into the
discount houses and may go as low as 2% on royalties.
Told <u>Felicia</u> something about <u>OPEN BRIDGE</u> and
