SATURDAY 22 MAY 1971 142nd day - 223 days to come

Letter from Mary Hilt. Since only 2,500 have been printed she will let the TRANSFORMATION rules run as is.

Got an idea for making OPEN BRIDGE into a special equip- ment game - for Hallmark. Later in day got idea for an x-word puzzle GAME using definitions on cards, to be dealt out and traded - also for Hallmark.

Gave a copy of AGOG to Sonny & Iris' son for his bar-mitzvah.

(cont. from 4/3) [5/18]

is published. He'll discuss it with Arthur.

Called Claude. Told him about Stationery Show so far. Asked him about DOMINO BEAD GAME. He would be satified with 16 2/3% and I suggested 50% - 25% - 25%. He'd be willing to give the Amberstones part of his share if they want. Claude was interested in some of Ideal's new action games, such as CROSSFIRE, COUNTERACT, etc. Described them to him. Felicia told him ESCAPE was rejected. (??) He enjoyed playing RIDERS UP with his kids and he'll hold onto it. I'll get a copy of the rules. He and Anne will come here next week.

Thought that my game POTENTIAL might be good for Frank Armbruster. Also thinking about a rolling cube GAME. CHESS type game with cubes moving by rolling one face per space, until a red face shows. Cubes have 2, 3, or 4 red faces. [started 5/18]

(cont. from 5/19) [5/19] MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL and COUNTRY CLUB GOLF. They also have a game, SHOTZEE which is somewhat like YAHTZEE. They are supposed to send me copies, within a few weeks. B. & R.: PURE GREED is the new name for Createk's SPECULATION. DODECA - played with 6 dohecahedrons [dodecahedrons] of different colors. Three are keyed to "strong", "average", and "weak" hitters. When such a hitter is reached in the lineup that die is used, but always to- gether with a 4th die. Certain symbols on the hitter dice refer the thrower to the play on the 4th die. A 5th die gives results when a "sacrifice" is called and a 6th for "stolen bases." (Rough idea.) Puzzle Factory: Jerry Green and Pat said hello. They had dum- mies of DICTIONARY (the game of either giving true de- finitions or bluffing, for obscure words and CHINESE CHESS, a trivial path game of moving pieces by dice throw towards a center circle. The paths are separate until this circle (cont. on 5/23)
