Felicia called BB. Still no word from Hallmark, but Felicia
has been away from the office.
She has word from 3M that WILD WOOD PILE is too difficult &
frustrating. They want it made easier.
Rcd. NOST-ALGIA (#132, April 1971). Bob Bruce had a review
of a 12-typewritten page booklet by Vernon R. Parton of
Liverpool England called CHALLENGE AND DELIGHT OF CHESSICAL AND DECIMAL.
It has 14 new CHESS variants and they are listed here with
notes on them, but not complete rules:- AMBI-CHESS,
MEDDLER'S CHESS, BLOG-STRAIGHT CHESS, DAMATE GAME,
BEST DECIMAL BUTTER, HALF-QUEEN'S CHESS, GORGONA CHESS,
CHESS TWEEDLE GAME, CENTAUR ROYAL, WYVERN CHESS,
CAPABLANCA CHESS, DECIMAL FALCON-HUNTER, CHIMERA,
MOCK CHESS.
Bought 3 yards of green contact at cross-county.
BB had started on the blue painting for the
TRANSFORMATION stones, but we didn't care for the
color. I prepared more beads and painted the
two faces.

is an area marked "Kitchen." A number of "female" pieces
(nuts) are started here. A number of "male" pieces (bolts)
are started around the kitchen and try to stop the
female pieces from leaving and entering various
male sanctuaries. (Rough idea.) Told Phil about OH PEG IT.
Bob Reiss at one time handled NUMBLE, until it was
licensed to S.& R. He says it was good seller, and that
it sells 150,000 a year for S.& R. He would like a tile
game, but not one with letters or numbers. Phil told him
about INFINITY and he will look at it. I said that
INFINITY was a great idea, but needed a lot more work to
make it a great game. Phil agreed. If Bob is interested
in it we will work together on perfecting it. We'll work out
the financial details later.
Phil is working on another GAME idea by a fellow - Herb
Hochstetter - who comes up with ideas but can't work
out the games. There is a cube mounted so that it pivots. Each
of the 4 vertical faces has a quadrille board with cut-
outs where pcs. of various colors can be placed. Each player
(from 2 to 4) has a color and places pcs. of that color.
Each player places a pc. on the side facing him. Then the
cube is turned a quarter turn. Etc. As a possible objec-
tive, each player might select one of a limited number of
patterns, that he must complete. At the same time the
