SATURDAY 13 MARCH 1971

72nd day - 293 days to come

Rcd. NOST-ALGIA (No. 131 - March 1971). Looked at WORD GOLF which was the familiar pastime of changing words a letter at a time, but this allows rearranging the letters between words. They are looking for contestants for tournaments in many different games, including LAST WORD, LAP, LINES OF ACTION, and PAPER BOXING.

Rcdn. a letter from Julian Clark Martin (see 1/26 & 2/9). He thanks me. Also said that the game he mentioned. STATUS was probably CLASS.

Wrote to Charly Parker (concerning autographing AGOG); Mary Hilt (SPELLBINDER, etc.); Jim Kraus (SLEUTH, PLANES).

In the play "Sleuth", "Anthony Quayle" had a SENET board in his house. He said it was played like NINE MAN MORRIS. (which, of course, is completely wrong.)

allows the player to place it on a bingo type layout. Each player plays with his own bag of marbles.
DELL:- Looking at the model but nothing more. A manufacturer de- clined to look at it because it looked too much like PARCHISI. I sug- gested changing the form of the track and also to work out some kind of a story line.
DERBY:- A horseracing game with 6 horses moving according to faces on 4 dice. Told him that it had already been done.

Called Arthur during day. Nothing particularly on games. [started 3/20]

At Alfons' hotel room we played MINI CUBE FUZION. It is played with only four of the double cubes, one end red & the other green. They are played one at a time within the limit of a 3x3x3 cube. But as pieces are moved the cube can shift location, it not being defined. A player can not move the pc. previously moved. Object to get 3 in a row of your color. I lost.
