Drove to N.Y. Hilton Hotel for International Toy Fair.
Dynamic Enterprises Inc. (P.O. Box 1070, Great Falls, Mont. 59401). They are putting out THE GOTCHA GAME which is a drinking & sex game which Charles Hope said was popular in hand - drawn copies in colleges before they put it out. I told him of Entex' GOTCHA. He gave me a copy. They are also putting out KING CHECK and I got a copy. (Gave him copy of S&T.) They are also distributing WHO CAN BEAT NIXON? They only had two copies. Arranged to go there Wednesday to pick one up as they were closing. Charles was interested in a copy of AGOG and asked me to send one & bill him. Told him I'd bring it Wednesday.
They are also distributing BLACKS & WHITES, THE CITIES GAME, BODY TALK (by Psychology Today) and REINCARNATION (by Dorwin).
WHO CAN BEAT NIXON? is [copyright] 1971 Harrison - Blaine of N.J., Inc. Charles said NEW REPUBLIC Mag. was behind it. It retails for $7. (THE GOTCHA GAME - $8, KING CHECK - $5)
Returned in the afternoon and Charles took me down for coffee and a muffin (all I wanted.) He has an idea for a GAME something like PASSWORD and wanted to know if I would be willing to work on it. Yes, for a royalty, the amount depending on my contribution to the idea. He'll contact me. S.A. Unijouets (French):- Nothing new in games. Took a Block House Catalog - with import articles from many countries. Tiderider, Inc.:- Standard adult games.
Shackman:- MOSAIC-TRACK. Same as the game CONNECT I bought at 1-2-Kangaroo. On the other side of the cards are colors for matching Mosaic style.
Marlon Creations:- Had two Spear's Games, TOT-TEN and QUANDRY. "Mr. Reidel" there and he said I could see them at the G & R showroom.
Italian Collective Exhibit:- Feliceantonio botta designer, Casella Postale 1456-50100 Firenze had a large sheet with some games. Most were standards such as CHESS, SOLITARIO, PECORE E LUPO, TREPP (MANCALA), DAMA CINESE, TRI TAU (on a 4x4x4 field), IL GIOCO DELL 'EX. A few I don't recognize including a U.S.A. based card game called GANGSTER STORY SALE. (2 copies in 1971 Ad Clips). No one was there to talk to.
German Collective Exhibit:- No games. Compagnie Generale du Jouet:- BATAILLE NAVALE, an electric game which I didn't look at. Tri-Aug [Ang?]:- Representative told me that they were going out of games, their least profitable line. I asked where I could get a copy of HIGH FINANCE and about my problem in getting a catalog from Hamleys. He suggested writing to [bracket] Hamley's
