Texas Independence Day 61st day - 304 days to come
To Statler Hilton Hotel and met Felicia and her friend Carla, from
Young & Rubicon. Showed them WILD WOOD PILE for a moment.
To 3M where Lou Zeller was the representative from St. Paul. He
remembered meeting me last year.
BAZAAR was not on display and Lou said that it was probably
being discontinued. It just doesn't move off the shelves.
Dick Littlefield thought that one reason was its light weight,
much lighter than any of the other games. He (I am pretty
sure that it was his idea) thought that it should be repackaged
in the Gamette format.
Dick also thought that MR. PRESIDENT should not have been
discontinued. It may be brought back for the '72 elections.
SLEUTH, 1 copy, was on display and looked good and the copy
also seemed good.
EVADE, another gamette, was also on display. It is a board game
with metal cylindrical pieces of different heights. Apparent-
ly the object is to get a specific, but unknown, pc. that
is marked with a magnet on the bottom across the board.

Dick and another salesman said that MONAD and VENTURE
are doing well. MONAD is at the top of the Gamette listing,
which Dick says is an advantage.
Felicia asked who was in charge of the puzzles and Lou
Zeller said it was him. Altho we had been thinking of show-
ing WILD WOOD PILE to MB Felicia decided to show it to Lou
(one point-there is a slight physical resemblance of the
assembled puzzle to TANGLED WEB). Lou at first
thought that it was too simple. Then as worked at it a while
he saw it wasn't. Since he was loaded up, he suggested that
we send it to Bill Caruson.
Gameophiles Unlimited:- Charles Wibel there. He had games from
different manufacturers and some, apparently, that he
was backing himself.
I asked if GAME OF THE MONTH CLUB - N.J. was defunct.
He said that they had run into a lot of trouble with no-
plays. He is thinking of reviving it on a pay in advance
basis, which would mean that he couldn't use the gimmick
that an unreturned card was an order. He has been getting
quite a few inquiries based on my S&T column. I mentioned
NILE which I didn't get and he said "oh yes" but I didn't
pursue the matter.
He was displaying a game NEW TOWN which he told me
was invented by a professor who has a larger version
which he sells to schools for $75. Wibel puts out this
version. He gave me the rules and will mail me the game.
(It is quite similar to my game NEWTOWN, except more
complex. Also the method of obtaining property is by bidding
as in SQUARE MILE.)
EMOTE is his and is a pastime rather than a game. There
are two sets of cards, one with a series of actions
