TUESDAY 19 JANUARY Robert E. Lee--Born 1807 1971 19th day - 346 days to come
Felicia called. Letter from Jim Kraus and SLEUTH will be ready by March. Told her about Gary Sherbell and she said that TORTS - THE GAME OF LAWSUITS was being sent back this week for changes. Told her about taping the TV program and that because of it I'd have to wait until next week to get LIVE WIRE to her. She said that Bob Edwards was in a hurry for it, but he has kept us waiting plenty.
While looking thru the book GAMES OF SKILL (Cooperative Recre- ation Service) came across a game, TURTLE CAGE. It is ident- ical with INDIAN CHESS, before my change. They say it comes from Shaowu, Fukien, China. Felicia called in the evening. Rael Cowan, the inventor of BAFFLE (now COLOR CONFUSION) was there with a new game (later learned that the name was ZEC). She'd like me to see it and give my opinion as to whether it was origin- al enough to submit to X. Will go there Thursday at noon.
Sent a check for $3.50 to Violet I. Gunther for the old copy of TOURING.
To Post Office and sent a copy of S&T to Eric Naiburg ($20, with VECTOR review) and to Arthur (#22). Sent registered letters to myself with the rules for MANHATTAN MADNESS and FREE FORM. (The latter had been opened by the burglars who broke in on 1/8.) [Mailed these tomorrow.]
Wrote to Fred E. Wadley thanking him for his letter on the GAME OF THE MONTH CLUB - N.J. and the GAME OF THE MONTH CLUB - N.Y.

thing was settled amicably. In fact Urban Systems will help distribute Gini's game. Gave Gini the page from PLAYTHINGS on WOMEN'S LIB. She gave me an ad sheet. Gini mentioned that Harmonica Reed, who did musical instruments, is now called Reed Toys and is doing games. (See PLAYTHINGS listing today.) Gini took me to supper. I picked a lunch room & only had eggs. // She knows of Jerry D'Arcey but hasn't met him.
