(cont. from 1/1) [3/7]

Anything she sees from Felicia will be with Felicia and anything from Tom will be with him.
Mary had contracts for AIRLINE and TRANSFORMATION. She fought for, and got, a $250 advance on royalties but could not get it as a closing fee. There was still the "hold harmless" clause and I said that I just couldn't sign it. She said she would try to get the Brown and Bigelow lawyer to change this to the clause in the 3M contract, which I showed her and had BB type up. They were sued over LIAR'S POKER (see 5/19/69) and dropped it. Because of this the lawyer wants the clause. Also he is very uncooperative with her.
Mary, BB, and I played a game of SPELLBINDER and she liked it very much. If we can clear up the contract problem I'll send it to her.
As she sees it her line will consist of:- HOYLE RUMMY - a version of RUMMY ROYAL (which she originally did for Western; she'll omit the aces in the corners - no one ever uses them).
AIRLINE - will be done with a wrap around plastic board. She is looking for a supplier of small plastic planes but may have to settle for die cut.
TRANSFORMATION - She ordered beads from Japan the same as the ones I had used (without holes I hope) and will have to pay for molds. She doesn't have any (the ones I sent are in Japan) and if the contract is signed I'll prepare two sets for her to use at stationery show. TEE'D OFF - An AGGRAVATION copy, using golf tees for pegs. Told her of Cadaco's TEE'D OFF of 1968. She'll have lawyers do a trademark search. The game is different.
PLAZA - Alex' (see 1970) if he signs, which she doubts. He is unhappy about too many things in his first two.
PEG-GO- A PARCHISI game with pegs. Brought up that it was pretty much like her TEE'D OFF. She shrugged.
LET'S PLAY GOLF, LET'S BOWL A GAME, LET'S PLAY BASKETBALL, LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL. She was surprised when I told her that DMR showed at the Toy Fair. They were supposed to retire their packaging. I told her that they weren't much as games. She agreed, but they were taken before she got there. The new packaging will be like the Gamette, but fatter.
TEMPO, INTERPLAY, ODD OR EVEN, CASTILLE, DOZO. When the present supply is gone she wants them in the Gamette - like packaging. // She would have liked to have had CARRE. She wants to get rid of the puzzles. There are too many. Also too many cheaper imitations in plastic. Drove her back to her hotel. //She knows about Hallmark.
