THURSDAY 24 DECEMBER
1970 358th day - 7 days to come
Rcd. an X'Mas book from Tom Mason at "Whitman".
Rcd. a "memo" from Paul Axel listing some new chessboard games. Other copies went to Robert Abbott, Martin Gardner, John Thayer.
The games were: MINIATURE BAROQUE, MOUNTAIN, VALLEY, COURSERS, TORSCHACH, TERRASCACCI, QUADRIPOLE.
At "Gimbels" saw a good display of my games and AGOG.
At "Macy's" took a publicity sheet with showed the board, tiles, and rules for THE GREAT DOWNHILL SKI GAME.
At "Polk's" a girl was looking for a think game for a teenage boy. All they had there were OH-WAH-REE & BREAKTHRU. I suggested the former.
At "Altman's" saw FIRST DOWN. There were about 18 to 20 cards with offensive plays and several with defensive positions. Also charts with numbers from 3 to 18 (for 3 dice) for results of kicks, etc. It seems to be something like FOTO-ELECTRIC FOOTBALL but I don't know how the plays are viewed. (Rules were missing.)
