THURSDAY 17 DECEMBER
1970
351st day - 14 days to come
Template:Note: names of people are sometimes underlined with dashes, while game names are underlined with a solid line.
Felicia [red dot] called. She tried to get me yesterday afternoon but
BB had left the phone off the hook. She has made a
date with Ruth Shaler [red dot] for next Monday at 3:30. She
read me IMPACT's rules for GO SEE [red dot] in case mine don't
come in time. I asked her about the route map for
"Continental Airlines". Didn't have it. She called Jerry
Daugherty [red dot] and then called back. He is sending it to her.
She told me of the LIFE [red dot] reviews. There are more games
than GHETTO [red dot].
Rcd. information on the game CLASS [red dot] in answer to the
PLAYTHINGS [red dot] card.
Called Carl Eisenberg [red dot]. Not in but his secretary said he
tried to get me all day yesterday. He was supposed
to call back but I called again before going out.
He has a date Monday morning to go over products
with Bob Reiss [red dot] and wants to bring MANHATTAN MADNESS [red dot].
Told him I didn't have the rules written. he said the
model would be enough. I'll bring it to him tomorrow.
Finished S&T [red dot] column, covering THE BLACKS & WHITES GAME [red dot]
(with picture), BYZANTIUM [red dot], and CARAPACE [red dot] (with picture).
(cont. from 12/18) [start red] [12/18] [end red]
the 9 mini-puzzles, the side-solitaire, and the
two variations of THE game. He will show it to Bob
Reiss on Monday and then should have a pretty good idea
whether he will do it. He intends to do 5 new products.
4 are definite, including Phil's GAME [red dot]. He has a number
of other items as well as MANHATTAN MADNESS [red dot] from which
to pick the 5th
He has a very limited budget from "Gund" and would like
to cut down or eliminate the advance, leaving the 5%
royalty. I said that anything the [sic] Phil [red dot] agreed to was
O.K. with me.
At "Klein's" saw BIG SQUEEZE [red dot] (Transogram). Score for
getting balloons thru holes, more points for bigger
balloons and smaller holes. (Rough idea.)
To Skunkworks with S&T [red dot] column. Jim Dunnigan [red dot] read the
introduction and agreed with it. He thinks I should
get out a form letter to the manufacturers saying
that all games received would be mentioned, similar
to the books. He will come for supper in the next few
weeks.
