FRIDAY 4 DECEMBER 1970
338th day - 27 days to come
Dale told me that Michael Dummett called late last night and
would be here today at 10. He made it at 12:30.
He returned the three games he borrowed from me last time:
AUSGEWAHLTE KARTENSPIELE, BUCH DER FAMILIENSPIELE, DAS,
BUCH DER SPIELE.
Gave Michael the material I reproduced for him on 11/29.
Showed Michael the material I rcd. from Don Laycock on 11/19.
He was quite interested in TYZICHIA. In the second
reprint Laycock gives a variation of LUCKY which a
native said was from Japan. Laycock said it was ob-
viously of European derivation, but Michael looked up a
game called KABU in HANAFUDA THE FLOWER CARD GAME from
which it undoubtedly came. This in turn came from a game
KAP-O, which Michael looked up in "Culin's"
GAMES OF THE ORIENT.
