MONDAY 30 NOVEMBER 1970

St. Andrew, Apostle 334th day - 31 days to come

Made a base for TORTURE TOWERS. Now there is only one solution I am pretty darn sure.

Put reinforcements on the columns of the PLANES field.

Finished the board for OVER 'N OVER and most of the packaging in a box.

Called Carl Eisenberg and told him about TORTURE TOWERS. He asked me to bring it in tomorrow.

Called Jane Jordan to see if she wanted the "Interact" games (SUNSHINE, etc.) back. I can keep them as long as I want, but she does want them returned.

Getting together the material I want to reproduce to- morrow - for Michael Dummett and for myself.

Call from Claude. Wants to borrow VERDICT. I told him that I would loan it to him if it is still available form "A. H.", otherwise I'd rather not. (Later checked - it isn't.) In any case I'll bring it Thursday when we come over.

(cont. from 12/1) [12/1]

Will make another model, probably in wood, and write up rules. Will get it to him by 12/15.
Mentioned PAYOFF and while he didn't seem to under- stand much about my description, he does want to see it. He is interested in old games that are now in public do- main. I asked what would be my cut if I came up with some. He said probably a "finder's fee" but possibly a reduced royalty.
He likes Phil Orbanes' CONGLOMERATES but is afraid to go into traditional board games.
He showed me a little GAME someone else had submitted. It is played with 20 pieces made up of 4 colored balls [drawing of green, red, and blue circles arranged in a triangle with a yellow circle centered on top] glued together to form an object as shown. When 2 play each starts with 6 pcs. When 3 or 4 play each starts with 5 pcs. The first to play throws one piece. The next can play from 1 to 4 (playing 4 never makes any sense, it seems to me) pcs. by throwing them. Any duplicate colors on top are taken back by the player; others are left on the table. If none are left the next player can only throw one pc. First to get rid of all his pcs. wins.
Another variation is played similar to POKER DICE
