To Brentano's with Felicia. Looked around a little and
then to Pig 'N Whistle with Dorothy Shapiro for lunch.
She was quite pleasant. ACQUIRE is doing the best of
all the 3M games. BAZAAR is not moving. I told her
about the "Hallmark" gallery experience. She agreed that
the packaging was wrong. The gamettes are not doing
as well as she hoped, but she thinks they may pick up
the last two weeks before X'Mas. Incidentally, TWIXT
and STOCKS & BONDS have fallen off from previous years.
Back at the store Felicia introduced me to Henry ?
(I didn't catch his second name). He is in charge of
the whole first floor (?) but he leaves Dorothy run
the game dept. He was impressed when Felicia told
him my 4 3M games and I threw in AGOG.
I was looking at the rules for ZONAL CHESS
and Henry said he'd get a copy and send them to me.
Gave him my card. Apparently pieces in the added zones
have special moves.
Saw THE GREAT DOWNHILL SKI RACE. The board shows a
snow covered ski slope <s>with gree</s> superimposed with
a grid. Some spaces have green triangles representing
trees. There is a supply of cardboard tiles showing
paths in different configurations. <s>These</s> Players have
10 of these in hand and play them to the board as many
as they can, and wish, in a turn. Score only for the number
and type of tiles played and probably for being the
first to reach the bottom (tho I didn't get this detail).
An opponent's path can only be crossed by using a cross-over
tile. (Fairly complete idea).
Saw DON'T BUG ME (Pacific). Two dice have numbers
(cont. on 11/27)
