MONDAY    21  SEPTEMBER
St. Matthew, Evangelist  1970  264th day - 101 days to come

----
Sept. <u>''T & N''</u> came. Had a picture of the Gamette packaging.
Showed <u>VENTURE</u> and <u>MONAD</u> on top and <u>HIGH-BID</u> open.
Article about <u>Gini Scott</u> and "Creative Communications and
Research"  listing <u>CONFRONTATION</u>, <u>NITTY GRITTY</u>, and <u>OH PEG IT</u>.
The "Hallmark" exhibit is covered with ACQUIRE in-
cluded in the list of contemporary games.
<u>4 IN A ROW</u> (Drueke Blue Chip Game Co.) shown in "New Products"
object to get 4 in a row on a 4 x 4 x 4 field.
Called up Bob Hallowell and changed date till tomorrow
morning. Ran into some problems on <u>SWORD IN THE STONE</u>
and had to change the layout of some of the swords. When
I finished <u>Dale</u> found it interesting.
Called <u>Felicia</u> to confirm our dates for tomorrow. Told her
about my Friday discussion with <u>Jim Kraus</u>. She wants
to get tough with them about <u>PROFIT</u>. I said that if any-
one needs getting tough with it is X. (Discussion - not an
argument.)
<u>Claude</u> called. He still can't decide whether to bring
<u>SAMMY THE SWINGING DRAGON</u> to <u>Jules Cooper</u> at "Ideal."
I reminded him that if he wants to have it for Toy
Fair next spring time is running out. He said he'd call
Jules.
He mentioned that his Queen's <u>PUZZLE</u> on an 8 x 8
grid is not as difficult as he thought it would be.
Making it 10 x 10 would make it much harder. I re-
minded him that X wanted something very difficult.
Got out <u>FITTING & PROPER</u> and prepared a cut out sheet
setting up one of the infinite number of puzzles
one side with a hint of two locations and the other
plain. Looked up the rules for the game.

called <u>Bob Edwards</u> at X. She raved about <u>FITTING & PROPER</u> and
got him to promise an answer within 2 weeks from receipt
of the game. Also if the game is not shown at Stationery
Show 1971 we can show it to others. She asked about
my trip to Kansas City and he said that was just an idea they
were kicking around and to forget about it.
Felicia called <u>Bill Caruson</u>. Tried to get some idea on how the
puzzles were doing. Non-comittal answer. He promised
to get <u>FITTING & PROPER</u> back within 7 days.
Felicia then called <u>Angelo Longo</u> of S & R. Gave him, the
big sell; Refused to mail it but agreed to bring it to
200 5th when he is there.
