SUNDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 1970

Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity 263rd day - 102 days to come

Wrote a letter to Michael Trombetta telling him that SLEUTH will be out in the spring. Thanked him fro the rules of KONANE.
I looked it up in "Murray." KO-NA-NE is listed as a Hawaiian game, with rules unknown.

Wrote a short letter to Hank Lamb asking if he has rcd. AIRLINE. Sent a carbon with an added note to Tom Atwater.

Made some more swords for SWORD IN THE STONE.

Told us that X had a 5-year plan worked out that sounded encouraging to her, but they told her not to tell anyone about it.
Felicia asked me why I hadn't mentioned in AGOG that "Whitman" had a boxed set of FOCUS. Told her that the editor had removed it. (At home checked and found that it was mentioned after a description of the material.)

To American Dictating Mach. Co. on 23rd St to look at the 3M "Copy-Mite" copier. It sells for $200, and they throw in 200 sheets of paper - which sells for $15. Said I'd probably be buying one at the end of October. (Spoke to Louis T. Moran.)

Stopped and spoke to Bob Oxhandler. While there ran off a copy the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR article for Felicia.

Back to Felicia's and Gary Sherbell came. Played TORTS-THE GAME OF LAWSUITS using the new rules. No exchange of cards for a 7 or an "Appeal" card. Can change en- tire hand when land on a corner. I liked the new rules but Felicia said they weren't as much fun (but she was very tired).
I suggested to Gary a device for ending the game. When started pick a definite time. As soon after that time as the deck is exhausted the game is over. He liked it, but said he is sure people can figure it out for themselves.

Rcd. a letter from Willard Allphin who saw MONOPOLY men- tioned in Martin Gardner's column, contacted him and was directed to AGOG.
He has written an article on MONOPOLY showing that Charles Darrow did not even add the idea of building houses. He sent me a copy because it is "evident that I like to get the facts straight." He submitted it to several magazines without success.
