WEDNESDAY 16 SEPTEMBER 1970
Ember Day 259th day - 106 days to come
Rcd. a letter from a "H.M. Smyth Co." saying that they were sending me 8 blank full sized decks and 5 small decks, in accordance with instructions from J.M. Kraus.
After finding out that I should have an operation as
soon as possible, I called Felicia to see if she could
check with X about my trip to Kansas City. She offered
to call at once but I suggested waiting a week or so to
see if they call her.
Felicia said that Steve Barkoczy had some great PUZZLEs
he'll be bringing in next Tuesday. Also Gary Sherbell
would like to play TORTS-THE GAME OF LAWSUITS and would
come there Tuesday at 4, if I want to be there. I
told Felicia that I'd have to see how it works out.
Called Jim Dunnigan. Asked him when he wanted my
next S&T column. He'd prefer Oct. 15th, but can
live with the end of October.
He asked if I had the rules for his game
ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR II. A-H is definitely interested
in doing it (he was just in Baltimore) but he doesn't
have a copy around. Said I'd look at if I had it I'd
bring it down for reproduction. Later found that I had
more than 1 copy.
I asked if Tom Shaw would be annoyed with my review
of THE STOCK MARKET GAME. Jim thought it was a fair
review and he doubted if Tom would even read it.
The game is not doing well, even with the ad in the Sunday
Times.
He was agreeable to the 2/3-1/3 split on SWORD IN THE STONE.
(cont. from 9/15) [9/15]
a ring I heard someone on the other end, complaining to the operator that he got a dead line, & I couldn't make myself heard. Didn't get another call.
Called Phil Orbanes and told him about my meeting with Bob Hallowell. I suggested a split of 66 2/3% to me and 33 1/3% to "Infinity Inc." on SWORD IN THE STONE. He was happy with it and will check with Jim.
Rcd. a post card from Warren Buell. A mention of ACQUIRE.
