TUESDAY  25  AUGUST

<u>Felicia</u> called. She wanted me to return <u>TRIAGO</u> by
<u>Steve Barkoczy</u>. She has someone she wants to show it to.
(Who?) I'll bring it Thursday.
Someone (she promised not to say who) said my things
were getting repetitious. (It must be someone at X.)
[crossed out] <u>Allan Turoff</u>'s <u>MULTI-PUZZLE</u> (see 7/28)
is being returned by X. It is too much like my things.
(Which doesn't make any sense at all.)
Felicia rcd. <u>Lilly Elkan</u>'s <u>CHALLENGE!</u> and <u>WALK, WADE, TAKE A CANOE!</u>
They are both childish.
My trip to X is supposed to be as a solid citizen, engineer,
who works full time on games. Felicia warned me against
accepting an offer to work full time, if they give me one.
The 3 copies of <u>''AGOG''</u> and the other material Diane
promised came to the office.
Called "Renwal." I'll pick up copies of <u>TAM-BIT</u> and
<u>TAKE FIVE</u> and some brochures Thursday. The $2 games
are not moving.
Rcd. about 400 brochures from "Stancraft."
Rcd. a letter from <u>Jim Kraus</u> with an idea for
using rare stones instead of shapes for <u>SEARCH</u>. Wants
my ideas for how to handle the problem of asking for
a particular number. Also the name <u>SEARCH</u> cannot be used.
He suggested <u>PROOF ENOUGH</u>, <u>ASSUMPTION</u>, and <u>THE HUNT</u>.
Rcd. a letter from <u>Phil Orbanes</u>. It looks like things have
improved at "TLAG" and he may be staying for the next few
years. The next 4 months will determine it.
Rcd. a letter from <u>Tom Mason</u> saying that he was sending
4 copies of the old version of <u>FOCUS</u> (already rcd.).
The new one is being costed. He'll keep us informed.
Rcd. a letter from a reader who bought <u>''AGOG''</u> thru
the "Bahavoral Science Book Club." He has a children's game
which he is putting out with his brother. He will send me
one if I am interested. He asked me a number of legal ques-
tions concerning protection of an idea. (<u>GAME</u>.)
Showed my solitaire game <u>COMBINATION</u> to our neighbor,
Midge. She liked it and played it very well.
