THURSDAY 30 JULY 1970

211th day - 154 days to come

Called Jane Jordan and gave her "Lloyd Ralston's" address (see 7/29).

As I was talking to Jane got a call from Tom Atwater, from Concord. Hank Lamb of "Stancraft" was in town and Tom had a tentative date for tomorrow morning. We arranged for me to call Hank and make the final arrangement - 9:30 AM at his room in the "Park Shera-
ton Hotel." I called Tom collect and he'll be there.
Tom had had another call from Bill Caruson while I was talking to him the first time. I asked about it on the 2nd call and it was some trouble with the molds for HECTRIX. Tom had lined up the plastics outfit for 3M.
Tom liked TRANSFORMATION from what he read in the rules.

Felicia called. Letter from Jim Kraus which said in part, that with the new smaller deck SEARCH might make the Gamette packaging. More on this later.
Felicia still hasn't been able to contact Rudy Lopez about getting together to show me his two new GAMEs. I also told her I'd have to wait awhile with working on LIVE WIRE.

Called Claude from office, where I worked late, and told him about meeting Allan Turoff and getting the book to re- turn to him.

Stayed up till 2 preparing a board for TRANSFORMATION using the wood-grained cardboard. Also colored in the instructions. Packaged in in a manila envelope.

Phil & Dale played quite a few games of DOZO.

trouble him that way., He agreed but said that his trouble with me was that I didn't give him enough things. I reminded him that I wanted to get together and discuss directions with him. He said he'd try to arrange a visit soon, or possibly I'll drive up there after I leave work.
While Hank was on the phone I asked Tom whether he had had any suggestions from 3M for a reduction in royal- ties after 10 years. No, all the things he is showing them is on a straight 5% basis (tho I don't believe he has placed anything lately). He admits that with the way 3M figures their prices a given percentage with them is better than with another company.
The inventor of PHLOUNDER has accepted a further reduc- tion to the 3 1/2% in an effort to save the game.
The inventor of FACTS IN FIVE got a big advance, but he
