SUNDAY 19 JULY 1970

Eighth Sunday after Trinity 200th day - 165 days to come

Wrote a long letter to Jim Kraus covering SEARCH and OCTRIX.

Wrote the rules for INDIAN CHESS.

Read the rules for SMOG and DIRTY WATER. The former seems quite interesting.

Is an inventor of games, but liked ASTRO-FLITE so much that he was willing to act as an agent. Later he sent his copy to "A-H." He has two games with them.

Thinking of another PUZZLE. Use six plastic overlays, each one having about 10 line segments in black or red. Object is to form 8 boxes which are surrounded by a single color. (Needs further work. Also it might conflict with Claude's QUEEN'S PUZZLE with the overlays. I'll hold off with this one.)

[Drawing on right of 4x4 grid with outlines in black, red, and green with alternating dots drawn in the grid squares.]

Made a layout for changing THE THIRTEENTH TORTURE so that the object is to get six different colors in the 14 directions. This should be more pleasant than adding numbers. Changed name to TOTURE TOWER.

Jack Davis called and I pretty much went over what I told Audrey yesterday. He'll keep in touch. Their clip- ping service may pick up some thinks the Hallmark misses. Jack said he would send Marvin Katz mater- ial because of his freelance activities. St. Paul handles the trade press.

Called Brian Blake and postponed showing him the memory GAME for about 2 weeks. He is also busy.

Wrote up my rule change, or rather addition, for INDIAN CHESS and BB typed it.

I told Jack Davis about the errors in some of the historical material at the exhibit. Also about the errors in the TOYS & NOVELTIES article and Marvin Katz suggestion that I send a letter. Jack thought so also. But understood that I didn't want to antagonize "M.B."
