SUNDAY 12 JULY 1970
Orangemen's Day 193rd day - 172 days to come
Seventh Sunday after Trinity
Some more work on the Memory GAME and brought it to
the Baschkopf's, but didn't get a chance to play.
Played OCTRIX in evening with BB, Phil, and Dale; then
with BB & Dana. Used my version that the trick number is
the value of that trick, multiplied by the number in sequence.
It seemed to add excitement to the [crossouts] each-for-himself game.
Also played 2-hand with BB, exchanging the cards. That
seems quite good.

Thinking about the problem of packaging SEARCH. A
pad with 37% more writing area can be fitted in the
box, but there is no room over a 54 card deck. Started
thinking of reducing the "Search Deck" to 36 cards by putt-
ing 2 choices on each card.

take. He'll try and take another look this weekend.
Got an idea for another puzzle, finally called
THE THIRTEENTH TORTURE. Made up a set in the evening.
It is a real tough one.
Rcd. a letter from Lilly Elkan with brief descriptions
of her game: WACK, WADE, TAKE A CANOE:; and her
puzzle: CHALLENGE.
Rcd. the IFW MESSENGER June 1970 (Col. 2, No. 6). Just
club news.
Claude called. He told me (among other things) that
Johns has CONNECT-A-CARDS for $1.50. Asked him to
pick up two sets for me.
