Rcd. THE GAMESMAN #5. There is nothing in this that I don't already know, a lot of it being reprints. There is, however, rules for a RISK variation. There is also a review of S & T's TACTICAL GAME 3. The next issue will feature 3M games and Don Miller asks for reviews, etc. I'll check with Don whether he would like a non-objective review of ACQUIRE, BAZAAR, MONAD, and VENTURE from me.

To Claude's in the evening. Showed them my CONSTANT CHALLENGE. Anne worked on the puzzle but couldn't solve it. So did some of the kids. Played the game, Claude & Marty against Raymond or Anne & me. Claude won all the games. Played with each side having 8 pcs., a set of the 2-holers and a random division of the 3-holers. It would work just as well with a random division of all the pcs.

BB worked on Claude's GENIUS BLOCKS and solved all except the hardest (which is to get a total of "1"). Anne asked if Claude submitting them to X would be com- petative with my puzzles. I said of course not.

Claude also had another puzzle he calls LOVE IN. It is based on THE TOWER OF HANOI puzzle with the three rings and the discs of different sizes. He has four girls and four men on different sized cards. Object is to start the eight cards as shown and then move them in clock- wise direction always landing in an empty space or on top of a larger card until each couple is located in its proper space (as identified on the cards and spaces). Prepared letters with rules for THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS and for WINDOW PAINS and brought them to post office to be regis- tered. In looking at THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS I realized that the set sent to X had the Impact (c) notice on it. I called Felicia about it and she'll write to Goldsberry. She played Jake's BRIDGE GAME with him. It involves bidding for a closed dummy. She thinks it is interesting although not highly original, but it might be just what x wants. Jake provided her with an extra set of rules to give to me.

At Claude's played BATTLING TOPS with him and the boys. It was fun; 2, 3, or 4 tops spinning in an arena. Knocking each other down and sometimes out of the arena. A downed top sometimes gets up.
