WEDNESDAY 11 FEBRUARY Ash Wednesday Thomas Alva Edison, Born 1847 1970 42nd day - 323 days to come

Made a new layout for EXCALIBUR with more interlocking.

BB gave a copy of AGOG to Edith. Edith gave her the Jan. SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN. In addition to Martin's column there was a review for a book CHILDREN'S GAMES IN STREET AND PLAYGROUND (which I filed in Book Ads folder).

Made repros of my upcoming S & T column on QUADS (the yellow draft) and sent them to Armin Speer.

Made repros of 3-D CHESS to send to Jared Johnson.

So that I could mention them in my letter to Jules Cooper I looked thru ALL-PRO BASEBALL, ALL-PRO FOOTBALL, & ALL-PRO BASKETBALL. They are quite complicated for Ideal games.

Arthur called. Henry Pelham Burn will probably be visiting them this weekend, primarily to see more HIGH DECK games. (They gave him a deck.) Arthur asked if I wanted to come over. I said that if it was set for Saturday I might come with BB. He'll call me if Henry comes on Saturday.

Called Jim Dunnigan. He is working hard in getting the current issue of S & T to press. The next one he hopes to have out in considerably less than 2 months. This will not leave much time for me to test the card game SECURITY and then to get permission to use it. Jim thought he would like me to do a column on pre-A.H. war games. For one thing there will be a number of other full games in the next issue. Discussed Bob Hallowell's [crossed out] prospective visit next week and Jim will try to make it here too. He'll bring me the copy of the THE GENERAL which contains a review of AGOG. A good one, he says.

Phil Laurence called. He said (among other things) that their small branch of the Yonkers Library has a copy of AGOG, prominently displayed among the recent arrivals.
