SATURDAY 7 FEBRUARY 1970 38th day - 327 days to come

Rcd. an ad letter from PLAYTHINGS, addressed to "Games Editor - S & T Magazine," asking if I want to subscribe to a subscription of my own. (Discarded.)

Looked at Dana's PLAYBOY Magazines. AGOG was reviewed in the February issue. Dana will pick up another copy for me.

Made a set for playing SEARCH, my new card version of CASE OF THE ELUSIVE ASSASSIN. Made a finished set of the 36-card "Objective" deck and a rough set of 40-card "Search" deck-consisting of 4 each of the 10 factors. Played with Phil & Annette, and BB. Dealt out the 40 "Search" cards in 5 [crossed out] columns, so that all cards were exposed. In turn take 2 cards from the column tops and ask for the file identified by those cards from another player of your choice. [crossed out] If can take two identical cards that file can be asked for. Worked O.K. except that there were times when all the available cards were the same type, like all colors. My ruling in this case was to allow taking only one card in this case and asking for this one factor. Also players towards the end found that the cards available didn't give them any useful information.

Frank called me and we arranged to meet at Gary & Reidel tomorrow at 5:00. He is looking for money for his company. He mentioned that his business manager had foulded him up but didn't go into the details.

Met Joe Weisbecker and his wife. DECISIONS, DECISIONS is not doing too well. (That seems to be characteristic of Cadaco.) He showed me picture of some of his GAMEs. He makes very finished looking models. Most were for young children but there was one played on a quadrille board with an irregular space in the center left blank. Each player's marker is a large die. The move is based on the sum of all the tops. A die is rolled as it is moved. (Very rough idea.) Another was played with plastic disc with lips of different colors and sizes, so that larger ones completely covered the smaller. Didn't get any details other than that remembering what was covered was part of it. They were very pleasant and I invited them to visit. They have (cont. on 2/6)
