SATURDAY 25 DECEMBER
Christmas Day 1971 359th day - 6 days to come
Made a new small board for JET HOLIDAY with 22 cities and
64 sights.
Played one game with Dave, Ricki, and Elliot. Then two more
with Dave and Elliott.
Later played with BB, Annette, and Phil.
(Everyone, including Morris who watched
the earlier games, seemed to like it.)
Gave a copy of CUBE FUSION to Elliot and played a number
of the games with him.
Sent an X'Mas card with short message to Michael Dummett and family.

PUZZLE: Wood pieces are joined by rubber bands as shown.
[figure to the left of page] There are three sets. Each piece is colored differently
on the sides. Object is to place the six pcs. together
at the points so that adjacent sides are different colors. (Rough idea.)
I believe he calls this TRIPLE CROSS.
At first Edson said $300 but then went up to $500. He wants
background material, hints on good play for NIMBI and various
variations on the others - there are large folders on each from Hein.
I was afraid it would take me well over a week to do it properly
and wasn't too anxious to attempt it. He'll try to do it himself,
but will call me on Wednesday to let me know how he is doing.
He is mainly interested in toys but has some European contacts
who are interested in board games.
He will get in touch with me after Toy Fair to look at some of my games.
Called Martin again to tell him of my meeting with Edson. Talked
about the history of NIM and he is covering it in his next column.
He think that my attributing it to the German "Take!" is probably
more correct than the Old English "To Steal."
Wrote a short apologizing letter to Don Laycock. Told him about sending my S&T columns and told him to ask me for info on them for the games themselves.
Went over the solution to the SLEUTH problem updating it to the latest symbols. BB will have to retype it.
Sent X'Mas cards with short messages to Gini Scott and Eugene Primoff.
