MONDAY 13 DECEMBER
Hanukkah -- Festival of Lights 1971 347th day - 18 days to come
Going over my [crossed out] notes on AMERICA'S GAME BOOK, call from Ken Heker, date at 3 today with Burroughs Mitchell.
To Felicia, Charles Titus did not show up to discuss PYSCHO-PATHS. Felicia called Michigan and he called back. It was a mistake; he had said Tuesday, Dec 19th but Felicia only reacted to the date. He will come tomorrow and I told Felicia I would probably be there too.
Felicia read a copy of the letter from Keith Tuggle. (See 12/11). He wants her to contact other inventors. I suggested Claude, but she didn't think that was a good idea. Lillian Voegelin is working on the "Mystery" Game. When she worked for [transogram?] she did a game BURKE'S LAW which she thinks she can adapt. Lillian will not work on the "Knowledge" Game.
Felicia is thinking of telling Andrew Luftig (See 5/14/69) who did COUNTER-INTELLLIGENCE. Hallmark, incidentally has taken an option on COUNTER-INTELLLIGENCE.
Felicia wondered if 3M had seen NOMINATION and CINEMA, I told her I was pretty sure they had but that I'd check my records.
Felicia was thinking that she could submit Lillian Voegelin's game of FOUR LETTER WORDS or ALTER EGOS as a "Knowledge" game. I looked at it for the first time and it is only for a maximum of 4 players. There is a timing gadget with four colors which sounds at the end of each color. The player chosen to go first chooses a four letter word as the pointer is in his color, reads it aloud, and all the players write it down on a pad provided with lines under on another alternating between the four colors. From then on players must call out a new four letter word changing one letter from the previous word, without alternating the order. A proper word must be called while the pointer is in the player's area. If a word is not called that line is left blank. Play, I believe, until the entire pad is used. Words are scored as follows: Correct word - 5 point, plus one point for each incorrect word or blank line that preceded it, if any. A word that is spelled wrong, or changes the order of the letters, or is too long, or was used before counts -10 and is ignored by the next player, who must play to the last correct word. (I told Felicia that I was afraid that in succeeding games there might be a tendency to repeat the same word sequences.)
Herb told Felicia that Dynamic is coming out with three new games :- CAPITAL HILL, NUTRITION, and DRUG ADDITION.
Gary Sherbell has been bugging Felicia. I told her that I tried to get him off her neck when he called yesterday. I said not to.
I told Felicia I was going to write to Keith about "Knowledge Game." She offered to phone but to Brentano's. Spoke to Henry Levy. Asked for a Brentano's catalog. They are all gone, but he expects that some with wrong addresses will come back and he'll send one to me.
