FRIDAY 10 DECEMBER 2023
344th day - 21 days to come
Called Book Sales and asked for Laurence Alexander. He still
wasn't in and they put me through to Mr. Worby. I told
him about Reiss and he took their number and said he
would contact them.
He said that AGOG would be out in a few weeks. They
have me down for 125 copies. I said that Random House
would be paying for 25 copies and that I would pay for
the 100. He said that Random House would handle the
whole thing.
He also said that they have six copies of the original
book that have been returned. He will see th These will
get to me eventually.
Called Bob Reiss to tell him to expect a call from Worby.
He was busy so they put me through to Phil Orbanes and I
told him.
He saw Bob Hallowell and he is wild about HABITAT. He is
also very enthused about the idea of a "Pencil and Paper
Anthology". He didn't mention HONORABLE RELATIONS at all.
Philis very busy with shipments etc. until X'Mas so there
is no action on FREE FORM and SPACE STIX until then.
Bill Knox is stillscheduled to come in on the 14th but there
has been no determination as to when, or if I am to come
in. There is still no cotract on GROOVE or the thing
of Phil's Knox is presumably taking.
To Copy Shop and got repros of the following games from the manuscript
of AMERICA'S GAME BOOK: FOUR HANDED CHECKERS, DIAMONDS,
FOUR IN A ROW, ACROSS THE BOARD, SPACE CHESS, FACE UP SCRABBLE,
FOUR DIMENSIONAL TIC-TAC-TOE, NAVAL GAME, ADI, BA'AWA,
GIUTHI, MONGOLIA, STAR, BATTLESHIP variations, EMPEROR,
MENSCH ARGERE DICH NICHT.
Rcd. the letter from Mrs. Gisa Botbol at Random House confirming
that I had requested handling British rights to AGOG
myself, and asking me to inform her when a contract with
Gerald Duckworth is completed.
Rcd. letter from Eve Auchincloss. The GAME CLUB that was
supposed to advertise in BOOK WORLD was didn't. The address:
