WEDNESDAY 8 DECEMBER 1971
Immaculate Conception
342nd day - 23 days to come
Called Eve Auchincloss to ask her about the "Game - of -
the - Month - Club ad. It didn't appear and she doesn't
know why. She'll try to find out and call me back.
Called Laurence Alexander at Castle Book. He is out all
day today. He has my note to call me.
Reading the manuscript of AMERICA'S GAME BOOK and made
notes of the errors and unclarities. As I got into it I just
took a sampling, as there were so many. There are 9 games
from AGOG.
Felicia called to say that Gellman came in to pick up GO SEE,
and return AIRLINE. He told her not to judge their quality by MOVIE STARS;
it was just put out in a hurry.
Ken Morgan called. He is sick and asked to change our day.
Made it for 12/15.
He saw an ad for EXECUTIVE DECISION in the TIMES financial section. Probably the same as that is WALL STREET JOURNAL.
In my talk with Felicia she mentioned that Gellman and
his partner might look at games and then later be influenced,
perhaps unknowingly, by them. Just a feeling
she has about it.
Claude called. Nothing specifically about games.
Working on puzzles for DIALEMMA until quite late.
(cont. from 12/11) [12/13]
could be at Felicia's at 1. In the meantime Bill Knox got sick
so the meeting is postponed, until next week probably.
I told Phil about my problem with the copy of TANGLED WEB
Felicia has. He said that I had done the puzzle for them
and she had no say on it. (Later I checked and discovered
that I had told Carl E and Bob H about another copy being
around.)
Orders are picking up for most of the games but Phil
thinks NINE OF SWORDS will be around 10,000, rather than 12,000.
Claude called. Told me about the advertisement for SARK in the
TIMES. Told him I knew it from a long time ago.
He saw VINCE LOMBARDI'S GAME at Bargain Town in a broken box
for $1. Asked him to get it if it isn't too much trouble.
Rcd. Dec. TOYS. New Products had WORD POWER (Lelend Wright -
not A.H.). Also SHOWDOWN POKER.
Rcd. old X'Mas card from Herb Siegel.
