MONDAY 29 NOVEMBER 1971
333rd day - 32 days to come
In NEW YORK Magazine had ad for NFL STRATEGY (Tudor). ('71 Ad Clips.)
Rcd. THE GAMESLETTER #29 and #30 (Oct. and Nov. '71).
Finished the HABITAT puzzle and played around with it a little. It is
real tough.
Made a diagram sheet for HONORABLE RELATIONS and had ten
repros made at Boston Post Rd. (using a free coupon sent to
me several weeks ago). (They are installing a Xerox machine
and will reduce their price to 5 [cents] a copy - down to 2 [cents] for
quantities over 100.)
Thinking of a two-hand game using the equipment. Have to
come up with some way of limiting the choice of tiles in each
turn. Also some way of determining when a move is illegal - due
to a later impossibility for all required neighbors to be placed.
Dana put black contact on the box for OVER 'N OVER, but not a
label - since there is no apostrophe on the dyno machine.
Bought the registered letters for GROOVE & HOLEY TERROR to
the post office.
Earl called. CLAUDE will be visiting him Wednesday. Told
Earl I'd like to come but I was going to Arthur's.
Saturday Claude visited Earl. Earl showed him the game -
ASTROCASTICS that he made up using the board he originally
devised for Claude's MANIPULATION. All of a sudden Claude got an attack of his sickness.
I called Claude and he was feeling better.
[Illegible crossed out - seems to refer to KNIGHTS & SQUIRES, CHESS, and EMPEROR CHECKERS.]
(cont. from 11/30) [11/30]
Copied the board from the game TRIREME.
Bob Reiss and Manny were interested in handling AGOG,
possibly as a premium. They asked me to have the
people at Castle Books contact them.
Rcd. a call from BOOK WORLD that the proofs of my column
were ready. I'll go there tomorrow afternoon to
look at them.
