SUNDAY 7 NOVEMBER 1971
Twenty Second Sunday after Trinity
311th day - 54 days to come
The fellow from Jehovah's Witnesses was here with his wife.
I showed her the game room and she mentiones a game
some teenagers showed her. It is called SHANGHAI RUMMY
and it seemed to be of the type of CAROUSEL.
Warren Buell here for supper. He looked at some of the
games I bought in Europe, but we didn't do any playing.
(cont. from 11/8) [11/9]
Dorothy Shapiro came late. Spoke to her and she would
like to have copies of S & T. Promised to bring them to
her in a few weeks.
She introduced me to "Bill Calligan" (spelling?) who is
the game buyer for Bloomingdale's. He is mad at 3M
for placing some Bookshelf games in the Stationery Dept,.
for the first time. He will get even by cutting his order
of 3M games.
Jock Miller, of Reiss, and I helped Dorothy Shapiro find
her bus to Fresh Meadows in Queens. Then Jock and I
walked back to "Sign of the Dove". Talked about pricing
of games. He thinks that $15 is too high and that
THE GODFATHER GAME will probably do fairly well this
X'Mas, but that they will die after that. Urban Systems
is not doing too well in general.
Even $10 items are hard to move. He thinks that Bill Knox
of Mag-Nif does a terrific job.
[Started 11/9] [Arrow pointing to the lines above and below]
Kirby Upjohn peomised to send me the revised SMOG rules.
Finished the letter to Pierre Berloquin, but BB didn't
type it. Mentioned : - ELDORADO, DIX PETITS INDIENS,
GELD & BORSE, NINETYSEVEN, CAVEAT EMPTOR, DECA-LOGIC,
STAY ALIVE, HAVOC, RICOCHET, BLACK EXPERIENCE, PERCEPTION,
SPACEVENTURE, PLAY ON WORDS, DIPLOMACY, ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR II,
S & T, THE GENERAL, GAMES & TOYS. Asked him for info on
LE PENTAMINO and LE MONDE DE AFFAIRES.
(cont. from 11/6) [12/15]
good games.
Thru a friend he heard that Kontrell was looking for
games to add to 97, HAVOC, and RICOCHET. Discussed
the company and I told him to try his stuff first. He
wants to talk about it further when we got together
next Wednesday.
