SATURDAY 6 NOVEMBER 1971
310th day - 55 days to come
To Laurence's with a number of games to test.
Four of us played NEW TOWN. It was rather slow moving
and we played it long enough to get the flavor.
Phil and I played BRIDGETTE and it was quite good.
Gave Phil the set since he liked it so much and I have
an extra.
Phil and I played THE GREAT DOWNHILL SKI GAME. It was
pleasant, but more like a solitaire game.
Rcd. another SLEUTH puzzle answer. Incorrect.
Rcd. a letter from Colin Haycraft of Gerald Duckworth.
He wrote to Random House about AGOG on 9/14 but
hasn't rcd. an answer.
I looked at my contract. If Random House doesn't
get an English publisher by 18 months (which has passed)
they lose those rights.
Rcd. a letter from Pierre Berloquin. He sent me copy of game
revues from latest LE REVUE DU JOUET, including POKY,
L'UNIVERSEL, ELECTRONIC, LE PENTAMINO, and MIRO-JONGG.
He requested info on: NINETYSEVEN, HAVOC, RICOCHET,
BLACK EXPERIENCE, PLAY ON WORDS, DIPLOMACY, CAVEAT EMPTOR,
DECA-LOGIC, PERCEPTION, SPACEVENTURE, STAY ALIVE.
(cont. from 12/15) [12/15]
about the 3M game request, but not my other friends
who don't work for her. Fine.
Mailed a copy of AGOG to Colin Haycraft at Gerald Duckworth.
Postage $2.90 by air. Had to cut a slot in the jiffy
bag so that they could see that it was a book.
Rcd. a call from D.J. Kerley, inventor of BEZANT (see 6/23/67).
He wants to look at the rules I have for his revised
game. Told him I'd bring them to Felicia's next Monday.
(He works in the same building.)
Made list of the letters i have to write and other work
outstanding.
Ken Morgan supposed to come over for supper, but got caught in
a subway jam and turned back. Had a friend call me when
he got busy singl signals for a long time.
Called Earl Perel. Claude didn't come because of the
weather. We'll try to make it next Wednesday.
He submitted DIAMONDS, THE AMERICAN WAY, and TRAFFIC SHADES
to Hallmark. When he didn't get an answer he called long
distance and spoke to Bob Edwards' secretary. They are returning
all three, altho they thought the first two were
